  • This artifact demonstrates my commitment and capability in fostering meaningful relationships with students, families, and school staff. Being an effective teacher extends beyond content knowledge; it also involves building and nurturing strong connections with students, their families, and the broader school community. Teaching is a collaborative effort, and this artifact reflects my dedication to creating and maintaining positive relationships with families, students, and colleagues to support a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Reflection:

  • I created a newsletter to send home to families, keeping them informed about upcoming events, upcoming classroom activities, and important reminders, such as signing up for parent-teacher conferences. Additionally, my other artifact includes a template I shared with students’ families to introduce myself and provide more background about my experiences. This serves to strengthen the connection between myself and the families, particularly as I engage in IEP meetings and conferences, fostering a collaborative and supportive relationship with the families of my students.
