          Alignment to Standard:

  • This artifact aligns with Standard 3, as it demonstrates a connection to the Missouri Early Learning Standards (MELS), as well as the developmental milestones that are developmentally appropriate for the students within my classroom.  This artifact reflects my commitment to fostering an environment that promotes age-appropriate learning and growth while also ensuring that my teaching practices are based on research-based strategies that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of all students.

Reflection:

  • To demonstrate my understanding and implementation of Standard 3, I have included a week’s worth of plans and activities that I designed for my students. Additionally, I have provided several photos showcasing the activities. Each week, my Pre-K classroom follows a theme, and the attached plans correspond to our Valentine’s Week theme, in celebration of Valentine’s Day. During this week, we engaged in a variety of fun and meaningful activities. Specifically, I have included images of name hearts and a student working on a friendship bracelet, which highlights the use of fine motor skills. These activities are designed to support the developmental milestones outlined in the Missouri Early Learning Standards.
